As parents, it’s impossible to stay up-to-speed on all of the new apps, games and platforms available to our children. Our world of social media is quite different from theirs.
Our children are immersed in technology as part of this new “Digital Generation.” Texting has replaced email, photo-sharing apps are starting to replace traditional social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The biggest challenge is there are very few programs to help support and guide kids to positive and safe behaviors as they participate in mobile and online communications.
The Parent Feed and Project B3 program is 90-minutes and is designed to run simultaneously for parents and their children who are in 2nd – 8th grade but is open to families of all ages who are looking to learn more about being more responsible with mobile and online communications.
Parents and children will walk away from our programs with the confidence and skills to address the 3 most common challenges with this new “Digital Generation”:
Safety – Keeping our children safe
Future Impact – Think before you post
Cyberbullying – Focus on being kind
The Parent Feed program offers parents a high-energy, interactive and informative way to learn about, and understand the potential challenges with the latest and most popular apps or platforms your children might be using today. Our Playbook will provide any parent with new ideas on how to address the challenges we might face today as parents of this new “Digital Generation.”
Project B3 is a fun, hands-on program providing the opportunity for children to learn from our trained high school leaders. The program offers children the opportunity to bring their devices to school, hang out with their friends and participate in small group activities focused on our mantra – “Be Safe. Be Smart. Be Kind.”
