As parents, our world of social media consists of Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and perhaps Twitter and Instagram – for the more socially savvy. Have you ever heard of Yik Yak, Kik, Whisper, Secret and SnapChat? If not, it’s time to learn about the most popular communications tools our children and teens are using today.
If your son or daughter is old enough to have a mobile device that connects to the Internet, the chances are they are familiar with some if not all of these apps. Think games like MineCraft and the videos they watch on YouTube are safe? Think again.
It’s impossible to stay up-to-speed on all of the new games, apps and platforms available to our children.
That’s why we’re very excited to announce a new “Social Media Boot Camp for Parents,” a hands-on opportunity for parents to bring their preferred mobile device, learn about, download and understand the potential challenges with the latest and greatest apps, games and other tools your son or daughter might be using today.
This 90-minute interactive seminar will include the following:
- Overview of most recent trends and data regarding youth, online activities
- In-depth review of most popular apps and tools being used by youth & teens
- Address any questions or concerns that you have as a parent on this topic
As part of their RSVP, parents will receive access to The Parent Feed, an online resource to stay informed and up-to-date on the latest trends, tools and news relating to online activities with today’s youth.
